1. Schedule a "meet & greet" with the dentist! Make the first visit relaxed and informal.
2. Avoid negative dental words like "drill", "pain", or "hurt".
3. Understand your own fear and don't pass it on.
4. Prepare for your dental visit. Plan the day around the visit and make it a fun experience.
At Smithfield Medical and Dental Centre, we understand the importance of providing children with a relaxed environment in which routine dental visits can be a regular part of the lives. As a patient and a father, I can relate how nervous one can be in the dental setting, especially for our little ones, so it’s encouraged that we follow the above advice to create as positive an experience as possible. We also have cool stickers to give away as rewards for being great patients!
